I
have been professionally training dogs for more than eight years, there is nothing I enjoy
more than seeing a dog and his owner have a mutually trusting
relationship. I am committed to providing the most effective
solutions to suit my clients needs. I actively pursue continuing
education and professional development by attending several
seminars per year and keeping current on industry literature. I base my
training philosophy on the science of learning and an
understanding of animal behavior.
I was certified as a Certified
Professional Dog Trainer in November of 2005. I received my certification as a Certified Dog Behavior
Consultant in December 2008. I have attended
numerous seminars on Positive Reinforcement training including
three Clicker Expos. In
2001 I attended Purdue University’s Animal Behavior Modification
course.
I
am an APDT Professional member and a Certified member of the
IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants).
I
am an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. I am a Delta Society
Pet Partner and a Delta Society Team Evaluator. In addition I train with the Porter County 4H
Dog Project. I am
a volunteer for Illinois Doberman Rescue
and Great Dane Rescue Inc. I work with and help many other rescue
groups in the area.
